10th Anniversary Palooza Raffles + Contest Results

We'd love to celebrate a bit, considering this day is the 10th Anniversary of the Paralogos and (by association) Whiffling Species!
mewhaku (Mew, aka me) would like to give back a little bit (as she does) and hand out some gifts to celebrate the species!
In honor of the anniversary, and our site growing so large, we've made a 10th Anniversary Memento:
This will be rewarded to everyone who enters at least one of the raffles (seen below). Alternatively, it can be claimed via the Claims feature.
Thank you all for coming together to make this group and site what it is... a personal note from my (mewhaku) heart, I am so thankful for each and every one of you. We've come so far!!

To take a look at the various examples of mewhaku's work, check her DeviantArt Gallery! (Though she'll be the first to admit she has a massive backlog of stuff to upload.) Mouse also has a gallery of their WoL pieces on site of course. *Also any Whiffling Customs will get 2* free Fae or Devilish trait, you can add additional potions as well. Alternatively, you can exchange the basic 'any custom' Whiffling reward for a custom from a Whiffling Breeding, which will be rolled as an additional free prize.

We have some recent results from our Member Survey with hopefully a look at what's to come this year!
We have our ongoing NPC Design Contest-
And also.. per our Official Artist call, we've reviewed the 4 Applications as a team amongst all staff...
We'd like to announce that we'll be asking kazulthedragon and Oboe to join the team as Official Artists!
We have reached out to Jingletail and Howee to bring in some Guest Artist sets for us as well! So look forward to those. =D
We hope you are as excited as we are with these new staff members.

2025 Member Survey with Raffle
Posted 2 months ago :: Last edited 2 months ago by MouseHey everyone! We've took a bit of time to look over & discuss your feedback and would now like to share our main takeaways / conclusions with you all!
Results
- There were 10 responses in total, 7 of which said they were here for Paralogos and Whifflings equally while 3 people said they were mostly interested in Paralogos
- Most people seemed really excited about new subspecies (in particular the WIP "Pterophors" subspecies), although a few people were worried about the main species being overshadowed or the world becoming overcrowded if too many subspecies were to be added - we hear you and are with you on that. If we are to add more subspecies after Pterophors, rest assured they would be thoroughly developed and embedded into our world of Lingua!
- 8 of you felt that our current MYO/currency distribution is balanced, while one person said they would like to see more being distributed. Another person suggested reducing the amount of currency "pixelart" grants, which we agreed with and thus made some adjustments (see below).
- There was a fairly even spread of what you would like to see more of, but the most-picked answers were the following with 8 votes each: Lore Events, Mini Events and Art and/or Design Exchanges. An honorable mention goes to Contests, which got 5 votes (and we already made good on this with our still active NPC Design Contest!) - Based on this, we are working on planning more fun events for 2025!
- Several of you suggested adding Dailies to the site, which we intend on implementing once we have figured out a good use case! Additionally, there were suggestions for an updated front/home page as well as a newbie guide - we are also looking into these, but they might take a bit longer since they are more involved.
- Some of you have told us that our nav bar / navigation in general can sometimes be confusing or difficult to remember. While this is not something we can solve immediately (since it requires a lot of consideration and restructuring), we definitely plan on improving this!
- Additionally, we've been made aware that the line between what does and does not count as "pixelart" for the sake of currency distribution is not as clear as we had hoped. Therefore, we have made some adjustments (see below).
Changes we are making immediately
As mentioned above, most of your feedback cannot be implemented immediately - but the following can, so we did!
- We have simplified the way currencies are awarded for collaborations - each collaborator will now get equal shares of the total currency value (so f.e. a piece that is worth 15 ink made by three collaborators earns each of them 5 ink)
- We have reworked the "Pixelart" section of the Earning Currency page
- The section is now called "Tiny Art" to better reflect what kind of art falls under it
- We have reduced the required size from 100x100 px to 50x50 px
- We no longer differentiate between headshots/busts and fullbodies at this size
- Currency amounts were overall reduced
- Backgrounds at this size now only reward 1-3 currency, regardless of complexity
We'd like to thank you all for your valuable feedback and we hope you like and agree with our conclusions/plans!

OA Call & NPC Design Contest

1) We're looking for additional Official Artists!
We're seeking out two (2) additional Official Artists for the World of Lingua (collective) species. All relevant information on related responsibilities and benefits are outlined in the form below.
To apply, simply fill out this Google Form!
Applications will be open for 2 weeks, until February 1st at 11:59pm EST.
2) We're hosting our first ever NPC Design Contest!
For our second bullet point, we have a certain Donation Shop in need of a new handler... maybe you can help?
Rules
- The created character/design must have some relevance to the Donation Shop, as it will serve as its NPC.
- A user may design up to 3 characters, 1 of each species (Paralogos, Whiffling, and Triceridos). Wicked Paralogos and Maverick Whifflings are not allowed.
- THERE IS NO NEED FOR WORD, IDIOM, OR SCENT APPROVAL - as long as it is not already claimed ON THE MASTERLIST - it is free game!
- Admins will help work with the winner if there is an issue with their original concept to legitimitize the design.
- The winner will be determined by popular vote after the submission period is over.
- The chosen winning character design as the new shopkeeper will transfer ownership to mewhaku for use as a group NPC.
Prizes
- The winner of this contest will receive the option of either:
- Any level of MYO slot item (from any species) other than a Wicked or Maverick MYO Slot
- A Whiffling Breeding Slot
- or a custom design of similar levels from mewhaku
- 3 Runner Ups from the final vote will also (if they would like) have their runner up designs made official for themselves to keep and enjoy
- If your design(s) did not win you will have the option to buy design-bound discounted MYO slots after the contest is over if you'd like to use them yourself!
- This contest will run until February 28th at 11:59pm EST.
- Submissions go into the NPC Contest 2025 gallery folder.
- A special Memento collectible item will be given to everyone who enters the contest!

January News [Site Updates!] and Spotlight

UPDATE: We now have the "character lineages" extension, which means that Whiffling parent/child relations based on breedings are now tracked on their masterlist entries!
These relations were filled out retroactively for all Whifflings. For an example, check out WHIFF-83-Burnt-Grass who has both parents and a child (visible in the lineage menu on the lefthand side)!

It is an entirely New Year! Go figure right? Where does the time go?!
We actually have many updates for you this fine month of January, so do read on.
Firstly, thanks to draculaelliot 's aid, we have gained the Donation Shop add on for Lorekeeper. We'll be setting up artwork and an NPC taking care of that wonderful and giving location within the month. Now that we are more on track with how to add certain add ons and updates, look forward to upcoming additions!
Second, we'll be releasing a Staff Adoptable (ELEMENTS) sale today at 12pm EST. Not too long after this post comes up! While things have been busy lately for the staff and Mew in particular, look forward to hopefully more frequent releases as we go through this year.
Third, we now have the automatic birthday rewards extension speaking of additions! This means that the site will now automatically distribute mysterious simple bags on your birthdays - however, this requires you to set your birthmonth to visible in your account settings. If you do not have it visible, you will not get your birthday bag going forward!

We have entered the month of September !
EDIT: We bring a surprise update to the Redesign Information Page as well thanks to Mouse! We now have some rare Whiffling items available as well in the Black Market. You know, for the right price...
We have also come to the decision as admins that the Large Twin Potion item should double as a design update item. As of this posting, you can use this item to update your Whiffling to a Twin-based design. Currently, there is not an item to de-twin a Whiffling. Please keep this in mind when designing!
