Traits
Feathered Wings (Special)
This trait includes a pair of feathered wings [1 PAIR] that appear on a Whiffling's back (can be more stylized as bird wings rather than generic angel wings).
Gold Crown (Rare)
Gold is the highest rank of Whiffling Crown. It grants you a Gold (white, rose, or yellow color) crown. Like the others, it can have any number of inset gemstones- but can have gold, silver, and copper metals mixed and with different inlays. At this point, any other materials you can dream of are also allowed to make up the body of the crown.
You can include the Crown the Whiffling is wearing on the Masterlist Image, but it is not required. Learn how to earn a Crown here!
Grandfathered (Special)
[Needs image] This trait is a catch-all for any traits Whifflings had before Species Standardization. It is also noted in the description of any entries affected, but this trait needs to be removed & updated whenever the Masterlist entry is changed in any way [Snapshot or Potion use for example].
Copper Crown (Common)
Copper crowns are the lowest rank of Whiffling Crown. It grants you a Copper crown, of course. This crown can have any number of gems. Any style is allowed, and other less “plant based” natural material like stone is allowed as well. [A reminder, flower crowns/plant crowns are allowed in general and are not a trait.]
You can include the Crown the Whiffling is wearing on the Masterlist Image, but it is not required. Learn how to earn a Crown here!
Pet Magic (n/a)
A Pet's magical ability. See here for more information.
Maverick (Special)
This trait category includes miscellaneous traits that fall outside of normal Whiffling trait descriptions. Such as abnormal noses, or secondary heads, depending on the extremes one would decide to incorporate. Please view the Maverick Whifflings Chapter here to more fully understand the Maverick status.
Silver Crown (Uncommon)
Silver Crown is the 'middle' rank of Whiffling crowns. It grants you a Silver metal crown. This crown can also have gemstones, but must be made from silver, or silver mixed with copper pieces. Something silly or fun like a food crown or similar “type” of uncommon “scent” crown would work as well at this level.
You can include the Crown the Whiffling is wearing on the Masterlist Image, but it is not required. Learn how to earn a Crown here!
Animal Exclusive Trait (Special)
This trait for example includes: feathered arms are exclusive to bird whifflings / fins for aquatic whifflings / antlers for animal species that are known to have horns (deer, ram, etc) / etc.
Extinct Influence (Rare)
This animal influence covers animals which are currently extinct, such as non-avian dinosaurs, or just modern-day extinct species.
Scent Decorations (Fae)
These include little floating objects seperate from a Whiffling's body relating to their scent, see Rainwater's rainclouds. They're more illusory than anything, but can have small effects (like causing small rains near them). Please Note: These can either include one shape/object [and vary in color such as for flowers] or they can be the same object but slightly different types [see example of different bones on Bone]. These generally are simple in form. If you want multiple distinct types of Scent Decorations you'll need another Fae Trait [Potion] to use for it.
The exception seperate "bits" being scent decorations are in reference to bits of liquid tail/body aspects that are not floating independently of the body, but as liquid sometimes splashes/moves may appear temporarily separate. Liquid still cannot float of its own will, or otherwise move around like scent decorations can. If we see the depiction of such, we will ask for a trait addition on your design. Please see Pink Rose Tea and Witch's Brew as examples for seeing liquid-themed Whifflings that have this exception. Again, these drops can't act independently/don't float, just can appear since these areas are liquid in nature.
Shaped Pupils (Fae)
This trait includes shaped pupils, such as stars or hearts, things that are no longer 'basic'. Basic pupils would be slit pupils, round pupils, and things that exist in nature [for example- regarding species influence, rectangular pupils which goats have are Not a Fae trait, but are not an Animal Exclusive trait either]. This trait does combine with the Multiple Eyes trait, the shaped pupils should all be the same though.
Color Changing Markings (Fae)
This trait can allow for simple color changes, such as WHIFF-100's color changing mane (green -> brown). Can be an effect of the seasons as well. Is not a direct control of magic to change said markings' colors.
Faceted Eyes (Fae)
A Whiffling's eyes with this trait appear to be more faceted like a bug's. See an example of real-world dragonfly eyes. This trait does combine with the Multiple Eyes trait as long as all the eyes present as Faceted.
Insectoid Wings (Fae)
This includes butterfly, moth, dragonfly, fly, and similar insectoid wings that can be seen on a Whiffling's back. [1 PAIR]
Monstrous Teeth (Devilish)
Similarly to the Monstrous Claws trait, teeth affected by this trait may impact a Whiffling's speech. They're more than just small fangs or sharper canines.
Monstrous Claws (Devilish)
A Whiffling with this trait has longer than average claws on its hands or feet, long enough to possibly make them a bit awkward in their dexterity. Alternatively, this can affect one claw (one finger), all claws (on hands / feet), or alternative claws (one finger long one finger not long). Such as a sort of raptor-claw adaptation!
Horns (Devilish)
This trait can also encompass variations or horns and antlers, but must be on the head. Some Whifflings have animal exclusive trait-adjacent horns. At max a Whiffling can have 2 pairs of Devilish Horns + an additional set of Animal Exclusive Horns (for a total of 3). Multiple Devilish Trait horns require an additional Devilish trait slot.
