Family:
Theia, a young Paralogos with a voracious appetite for learning everything related to her word. Aster considers Theia his adoptive younger sibling and the two are inseparable.

Friends:
Celeste is fairly small for a Paralogos, and engaging in her word focus makes her feel even smaller. She is a bit shy and prefers to watch than engage.

Vela loves to party and celebrate even the little things. Her upbeat attitude helps lift everyone's spirits.

Adversary:
Dr. Kara Stern is extraordinarily smart, disciplined, and hard-working. She treats her fellow bonded Paralogos like work colleagues - friendly, but at arms length. Aster finds her uptight and focused on the wrong subjects.

Story:
Aster's egg was found by the Brookshires, a wealthy family living in the upper echelons of Sermos' society. They treated their Paralogos as servants and objects of desire rather than companions or family members. The family consisted of a single mother and her spoilt-rotten daughter. The pair did their best to force Aster, whom they named "Clyde", to choose a word focus that reflected their pompous attitudes and lifestyle. Eventually, they grew tired of Aster's stubbornness and relegated him to menial household chores.

Several months later, another unformed Paralogos was adopted by the family. The Brookshires called her "Cynthia," but the little tabula rasa decided she wanted to be called "Theia". She happily accepted her new caretakers for she yearned for a family and sense of purpose, not knowing the torment that was in store for her. Aster, once content with his terrible caretakers as long as he had somewhere warm and dry to sleep, felt very protective of his new friend and vowed to get her out of their predicament. The pair would eventually plot their escape and leave the confines of their expensive prison together.

The two of them roamed the Sermos metropolis for some time until they wandered onto the university grounds. They attended a free planetarium show, mainly as a reprieve from the weather, but were immediately entranced with what they experienced. The show's orator, a professor at the university, offered the pair a place to stay for the night. Both Aster's and Theia's bodies started to take form almost immediately, signifying they'd found their word focuses, and decided to stay permanently and bond with their new caretaker.

Now, Aster and Theia happily live with Dr. Aliya Ramirez and her other space-related Paralogos. His daily duties include taking regular notes and measurements of solar activities, including sunspots and solar flares.
