Origin:
"act of betraying," 1798, from betray + -al (2). Earlier in the same sense were betrayment (1540s), betraying (late 14c.).

Definition:
To betray someone or something, or to be betrayed - to go behind someone's back to harm them or act against them. Can also apply to concepts - ie. to betray moral standards - or perceptions - a betrayal of a secret, etc.

Magic Status: 1 - Neophyte
Tier 1 - This Paralogos has two forms, the true "wolf" form, and the illusory guise "sheep" form. The guise can be maintained indefinitely, but the Paralogos will be forced back to their true form under severe emotion, or if the viewer realizes it's a guise.
Tier 1 - As the "sheep", the Paralogos is uncannily believable/trustworthy. As the "wolf", this effect reverses..
Tier 1 - The Paralogos' scorpion tail is functional, and contains a non-lethal, but temporarily paralytic, venom.
