Scientific name- we have had trouble tracking down the etymology of its components- most likely a Greek origin for Calliopius and Latin for laeviusculus.

Definition:
Calliopius laeviusculus is a species of amphipod in the family Calliopiidae.
Has very variable color; whitish or greenish with distinct markings or variegation- a transparency as well most often.
They also have short antennae, all of the same length, large eyes that nearly meet at the top of their head- and are native to the North Atlantic.

Magic Status: 1 - Neophyte
Tier 1 - Able to make their body more transparent, down to 50% opacity (minus their eyes and lights, which are always completely opaque).
